Logging in to Your Site

Logging In

When you create a trial site, Squarespace automatically adds a login link in your sidebar. Click your login link to log in to your site.

Your username is the same as your Squarespace account name. For example, if your site is:

http://xxx.squarespace.com

Then xxx is your login.

Reset Password

If you need to reset your password, click the I forgot my password link:

Hide Your Login

You can hide the login page for your site so that the login link is not displayed in your navigation section. See this FAQ entry for more information on creating hidden pages. If you hide your login page, you can still access this via the direct URL. For example, if your login page is here:

You can access this directly from here:

http://xxx.squarespace.com/login/

Replacing "xxx" with your Squarespace account name.

Removed or Disabled Login

If you inadvertently remove or disable your login page, you can still log into your site using this URL:

http://xxx.squarespace.com/display/Login

Note the capital L in Login, and replace "xxx" with your Squarespace account name.

Enable Login

If you've disabled your login page and are unable to access it, you can log in using the above URL. Once you log in, you can re-enable your login page so that you can access this when you're logged out of your site.

When logged in and viewing the front part of your site, click the cubes icon to switch to Structure Editing Mode. Hover over your login page link, and click enable in the slide out menu.

You can also enable this from the Architecture tab under Website Management.  Hover over your login page component, and click to enable this.

Add New Login Page

If you've removed your login page from your site, you can add a new login page using the steps for adding a page here.  In the page list, choose the Login Prompt page.
