Domain Mapping with Dotster
You can map your own domain name to your Squarespace site using our Domain Mapping feature. Please note, this feature is not available with our Basic plan. You must upgrade your account to Pro or higher to access this service.
The following instructions are for configuring your domain in Dotster's DNS Management control panel. These instructions assume you have already registered a domain with Dotster, and can take up to 48 hours to propagate through the Internet.
Step 1 - Login to Your Dotster Account
Click the "My Account" link at the top of the screen at http://www.dotster.com, enter your username and password and click "Login."Step 2 - Access Your Dotster Account Settings
Under the Domains list, click the domain you want to configure.

Step 3 - Access DNS Management
Under the "Services for this Domain" section, click "Manage" under DNS management.
Step 4 - Point your Domain (Part 1)
You will need to create two A records, one for 'www.yourdomain.com' and 'yourdomain.com' (no 'www'). To create the first record, add 'www' to the field before your domain name, and add Squarespace's IP address to the IP Address field: 69.28.242.163, and click "update." This points your domain "www.yourdomain.com" to Squarespace.

Step 5 - Point your Domain (Part 2)
You will create the second record the same way, but leave the field before your domain name blank. Add the IP address 69.28.242.163, and click "update." This points your domain "yourdomain.com" (without the 'www') to Squarespace.
Both records will be listed for your domain.

Step 6 - Login to your Squarespace Site Manager
Within the Structure & Style > Domain Mapping area, create two records -- www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com. Set your www.yourdomain.com record as the primary.
