Alter your site appearance with a custom style, using the Style Manager to edit your elements.

Step 1 - Create a New Style

From the Appearance tab of your Site Manager, click Create a New Style at the bottom of the page.

Step 3 - Customize Your New Style

After creating your custom style, return to the Appearance tab and click the customize button for your new style to begin adjusting colors and fonts.  Note: you will need to activate your custom style to apply any changes to your site.

Step 4 - Customize Individual Elements

From the Customizable Elements tab in the Style Manager, choose the element you would like to customize from the drop-down menu.  The element you choose to modify will be highlighted in red in the preview screen.  A video tutorial for this is also available in our User Manual here.

Step 5 - Add Custom CSS (Optional)

If you are an experienced in CSS, you can amend your stylesheet by adding code to the Custom CSS area of the site manager.

IMPORTANT: Any code entered here will override Squarespace's primary stylesheet and any changes you have made to the Customizable Elements menu. We do not recommend altering this code unless you have the CSS knowledge and experience necessary to debug issues that may arise.
